Our Programs

UTTC Junior Development (13-18)

The University of Toronto Track Club Junior Development (JD) program is a year-round program that coach-led and athlete-driven. Our JD program emphasizes personal growth and development within a team atmosphere.  This program provides event-specific training that focuses on the development of: strength, technical skill, form, and mechanics to achieve optimal performance. Our highly skilled coaching staff develops and implements training curriculum that is suitable for the age, experience, ability, and fitness level of the athletes.  Practices are 2-3 days and range from 1.5 to 2-hour sessions.

Power and Speed JD Events include:

  • Horizontal Jumps: (Triple and Long: JD/HP mixed)
  • High Jump (JD/HP mixed)
  • Sprints (60-400m, JD)
  • Hurdles (Sprint, Int. and Long: JD/HP mixed)
  • Pole Vault (HP Only)

Power and Speed Timings

Tuesday & Thursday 4:30-6:30 pm, Saturdays 12:00-2:00 pm

Endurance JD Events Include:

  • Middle Distance: 300m-3000m
  • Steeple Chase
  • Cross Country

Endurance (Middle/Long Distance)

UTTC JD High Performance Academy (14-18)

In addition to all the things our junior development program offers, The University of Toronto Track Club High Performance Academy also provides talented young athletes a uniquely integrated approach to sport development which includes:

  • Strength and conditioning training
  • Expert coaching and sport-specific instruction, and
  • Access to Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport and Varsity Centre

Practices are 3-4 days a range from 1.5 to 2-hour sessions.  Please contact event coach for specific training dates.

UTTC Masters

The University of Toronto Masters Club welcomes athletes ages 30 and older of all abilities. Whether are a former elite competitor or are new to the sport our will help you work towards your goals.

Led by 1988 Olympian Paul Osland, Michael Sherar and Walter Faion, the Mid/Distance coaches customize workouts based on your event goals – 400/800, 800/1500, 1500/5K, and 10K/Marathon.
