UTTC Shines at 2025 Athletics Ontario U20 & Open Track and Field Championships

The University of Toronto Track Club delivered a standout performance at the Athletics Ontario U20 & Open Championships, held July 4–6 in Windsor. Over the course of the weekend, UTTC athletes earned podium finishes, set personal bests, and continued to build momentum heading into the height of the summer season.

Gloria Eitm led the way on the U20 stage, sprinting to bronze medals in both the 100m and 200m. Her times of 11.64 and 23.97 seconds respectively marked a strong double-medal performance and underscored her potential as one of the club’s most promising young sprinters.

In the women’s open middle-distance events, Julia Agostinelli captured the 1500m title with a new personal best of 4:16.71 and followed it up with a strong fourth-place finish in the 800m, clocking 2:06.98.

On the men’s side, Sam Kinahan secured a decisive win in the open 5000m, finishing in 14:46.76. Alonzo Ryan captured the men’s open 800m title in 1:49.19, rounding out an already impressive weekend for UTTC athletes.

The men’s open 4×100m relay team—P. Moyo, K. Karangwa, W. Tapodi, and C. De Martin—delivered an exciting silver-medal performance, stopping the clock at 43.75 seconds in a tightly contested final.

Coach Micha Powell took to the blocks in the women’s open 400m and came away with gold, finishing in a swift 53.89 seconds and third in the women’s open 200m.

Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, and supporters who made this weekend a success.
